In 2019, Tipico expands into the United States: With ‘Let’s make this interesting’, Tipico develops its own sports betting and iGaming products for the US market, starting its operations in New Jersey. This is followed by expansions into Colorado, Iowa, and Ohio. Tipico’s platform wins prestigious awards and, thanks to its technological expertise, attracts the attention of the world’s largest operators. In the summer of 2024, MGM acquires Tipico’s US platform.
Meanwhile, Tipico’s headquarters in Malta and its core location in Karlsruhe continue to grow. The Tipico Tower in Malta and the Tipico Campus in Karlsruhe become the new homes for more than 600 employees combined. In 2020, a historic milestone is reached in Germany: For the first time, nationwide concessions are granted to private sports bookmakers. On October 9, 2020, Tipico becomes the first operator to receive such a concession from the Regierungspräsidium Darmstadt (regional council of Darmstadt). This is followed by licenses for virtual slot games in Germany (2022) and, as the first private provider, a license for online casino operations in Schleswig-Holstein (2024).
Additionally, Tipico underscores its commitment to partner with the best: Alongside its long-standing partnerships with the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, Tipico becomes an official partner of the DFB Pokal and DFB Women’s Pokal in 2024.
